In contrast to our Hill Country estate grown varietal, this 100% Texas High Plains Mourvèdre is Medium to full bodied and rich in flavor. The heavier clay soils and higher elevation of the Texas High Plains allow these grapes to ripen slowly and completely resulting in a complex wine that is very age-worthy. Deep, opaque color with aromas of dark fruit, spice, and tobacco. Dark fruit continues through to the palate, with white pepper, espresso, and structured tannins that lead to a long finish. We love this wine paired with anything on the smoker, specifically brisket.
